বারবার পরীমনিকে রিমান্ডে নেওয়ার বিষয়ে জানতে চাইলে সিআইডির প্রধান মাহবুবুর রহমান সাংবাদিকদের বলেন, মামলার তদন্তের স্বার্থেই পরীমনিকে রিমান্ডে নেওয়ার আবেদন করা হয়। পরীমনির দেওয়া তথ্যে বেশ কিছু অসংগতি পাওয়া গিয়েছিল। এসব তথ্য যাচাই–বাছাইয়ের জন্য পুনরায় পরীমনিকে রিমান্ডে নিতে আবেদন করা হয়।
মঙ্গলবার নিজ কার্যালয়ে তিনি আরও জানান, চিত্রনায়িকা পরীমনি, আওয়ামী লীগের বহিষ্কৃত নেতা হেলেনা জাহাঙ্গীরসহ বিভিন্নজনের নামে থাকা ১৫টি মামলার তদন্তকাজ শেষ পর্যায়ে। মামলাসংশ্লিষ্ট রাসায়নিক ও ফরেনসিক প্রতিবেদন পাওয়া সাপেক্ষে এক থেকে দেড় মাসের মধ্যেই আদালতে প্রতিবেদন জমা দেওয়া শুরু হবে।
সিআইডি প্রধান জানান, আসামিদের অপরাধলব্ধ আয় আছে কি না, সেটিও যাচাই–বাছাই করছে সিআইডি। বেশ কয়েকজন আসামির আর্থিক হিসাব জানার জন্য বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক বরাবর চিঠি দেওয়া হয়েছে।
গত ৪ অগাস্ট রাতে ঢাকার বনানীতে পরীমনির বাসায় অভিযান চালিয়ে তাকে গ্রেফতার করে র্যাব। পরদিন তার বিরুদ্ধে বনানী থানায় মাদক আইনে এ মামলা করা হয়। জব্দ তালিকায় পরীমনির বাসা থেকে ‘মদ এবং আইস ও এলএসডির মতো মাদকদ্রব্য’ উদ্ধারের কথা বলা হয়।
গত ৫ আগস্ট পরীমনিকে প্রথম দফায় চার দিন ও ১০ আগস্ট দ্বিতীয় দফায় দুদিন রিমান্ডে নিয়ে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করেছে মামলার তদন্ত সংস্থা সিআইডি।
